"The vaccine that was in use earlier is ineffective now. We have held a discussion with ICMR [Indian Council of Medical Research] for introduction of a new vaccine against KFD. We have tied-up with a Hyderabad-based company to manufacture this new vaccine," the minister told the media in Kundapur. "It may take at least seven to eight months for the company to complete its research [for vaccine manufacture]," he added.
