NIV study links mutated norovirus strain to Pune’s GBS outbreak

Genome sequencing revealed that nine of 12 norovirus strains from GBS patients belonged to the recombinant GII.16[P16] genotype, while two were GII.17[P17] and one was GII.4 Sydney[P16] — a globally dominant epidemic strain.
