Regulator finds toxic contaminant in cough syrup linked with deaths in MP

While the Union Health Ministry had earlier stated in a press note that samples of the syrup tested by CDSCO and the MP state drug regulator were “found to be free of DEG/EG” contaminants, samples tested by the Tamil Nadu FDA were found to contain DEG “beyond the permissible limit.”
