Smoking raises death risk by 55% in people with diabetes, global experts call for active quit treatment

The recommendations, published in Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice, are the first dedicated international consensus on smoking cessation specifically for people with type 2 diabetes. They were developed by 35 experts from 13 countries, including Indian diabetes specialist Dr Anoop Misra.
